You know I find Jeremy Clarkson amusing on his TV shows but he sure does have a way of being an absolute arsehole. He is a privileged white male and very out of touch. Even when he's working his farm he's sitting on a ridiculous tractor in the middle of the bloody Cotswolds. Doubt I could even afford to eat at his pub or stay for one night near his farm. I'm self-employed and I claim benefits because I couldn't afford to live and feed my child as a single parent without the top up I receive from universal credit. Anybody that can afford to buy a farm in the Cotswolds should not be speaking on benefits full stop because it is so far out of their realm of experience and understanding to scrape every month, give up luxuries that he probably deems necessary. I would love to see him survive on universal credit and live in a council flat for a month. Reckon he'd change his tune then.

Not to mention his tax avoidance and all the "stipends" he apparently received for his farm. Is he writing thank you letters for those?

Great letter. And great point about the cancer diagnosis never falling victim to those kinds of backlashes.... The sheer ignorance and narrowmindedness around disabled folks is truly disheartening in this country (& elsewhere) at the moment.

Thank you for your advocacy!
